Step 1: DISCUSS YOUR BUSINESS GOALS
First, we’ll want to hear you describe your business goals. Why do you want the product? What do you want to communicate? Who is your target audience? What are your messaging priorities? What actions do you want your audience to take as a result of seeing the product?

Step 2: SURVEY INSTALLATION SITE
Second, we’ll walk your location to assess whether the envisioned product is likely to accomplish your goals. We’ll calibrate distance and review sightlines, and then review the product design to ensure that its design is sufficiently legible to be effective. We will also keep zoning  and covenant restrictions in mind given that some cities, counties, and landlords have developed specific rules applicable to your business.

Step 3: RECOMMEND PRODUCT DESIGN
We take all of the above analysis into consideration and may possibly make recommendations to you about how you might adjust the product design for greater effectiveness.

Step 4: PROVIDE ZONING AND PERMITTING INFORMATION
Upon request, we advise customers on jurisdiction regulations for your project location. Our experienced staff can readily manage the challenges of obtaining the zoning regulations and filing permit applications for your project.

Step 5: GENERATE COST ESTIMATE
In some instances - generally where your needs are simpler and well-defined, we will provide a cost estimate to you once we understand what your needs are. Only very experienced team members take order inquiries and generally they are able to provide a cost estimate while you wait - and you won’t have to wait long!
For more complex projects, once all of the proper sign and installation/delivery information has been provided, we will generate an estimate that can be emailed or faxed to you.

Step 6: DESIGN PRODUCT OR RECEIVE CUSTOMER DESIGN
Once we receive your communications copy, images, and pertinent graphic standards direction from you (your company colors, typography, logo usage guidelines, and branded imagery treatments), our designers create a draft product design and submit it to you and your team for review.

OR

If your company or your design firm supplies the product design artwork, we will review that artwork to assess whether the proposed design will meet your goals. We will review component files to ensure that they are properly prepared and in a format that ensures you get the best quality product that our technology is capable of producing. If you plan on sending files, click this link SENDING FILES for information on how to prepare and format files and how to transmit them to us for production.

Step 7: REVIEW AND FINALIZE PRODUCT DESIGN
Once you have reviewed the design draft(s) and determined that the product is ready for production, you will fax or email your approval form to us.

Step 8: FINALIZE FILE PREPARATION
Visual brand-communications products are most effective when they are well-designed then impeccably produced. This is a critical step in the process. When we finalize your files, we use proprietary processes to ensure that text and graphics are smooth and that images are color-balanced and color matched so they pop to the eye. This requires that we optimize your final files so that our production technology does its best work. Believe it or not, even with high-speed computers, preparing and ripping a large file can take hours of computer time.

Step 9: MANUFACTURE PRODUCT
Manufacturing is usually a 3-step process. First, component parts of your product are manufactured. Once all the parts are produced, they move into fabrication and finishing for assembly and finishing work. Then the finished product is prepared for installation and delivery so that it arrives in pristine condition.

Step 10: INSTALL PRODUCT
If your product is a sign, we contact Miss Utility to mark every outdoor site before we commence work. Then, we contact you to arrange the installation. Our installation team, led by a 16-year veteran, positions your products to maximize visibility. Our installer can meet your team onsite, if needed.

Since we know your schedules are busy, a site plan marking the general location desired for your sign can be sent along with the approval forms when production is started.  Our installers are very savvy and can take the general location given, and pick a particular spot close by with the optimum visibility.
